Aug 09, 2016 - The city council of the City of Tioga has adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 8 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $40.07.

Use the Code Red link on the main page to set up an account for emergency weather notifications from Grayson County and non-emergency general messages from the City.
Texas Government Code, Chapter 252 gives you the right to access government records. To obtain information, submit your written request by mail, fax, email or in person. You may use your own form or the public information request form provided by City Hall.
We charge the costs provided by the Texas Administrative Code for research and copies of information. You will also be required to pay any costs associated with delivery of the information (postage, etc.).
The City strives to fill all request for disclosure of public information within ten (10) working days, however, due to personnel demands, schedules and the storage location of the records there may be occasions when the disclosure of records may take time. We will contact you immediately to notify you of any delays.

Garage Sale Permits
Permits are required in order to hold a garage sale at any time other than the “City Wide Garage Sale” held the first weekend of October. A garage sale includes porch sales, yard sales, estate sales, or any kind of outdoor auction. No more than four garage sales can be held during any twelve month period at any individual property address. No sale shall last more than three consecutive days.
Alcohol Sales Permits
At an election held November 8, 2011 the majority of the voters in a local option election opted to allow the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only. Before sales of any alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption may begin a City Permit must be obtained.
Permit for Peddling, Solicitation, Itinerant Vendor, or Itinerant Merchant
Any person, partnership, firm or corporation wishing to peddle, sell, solicit, exhibit or take orders for any goods, wares, merchandise, foodstuffs, services, and subscriptions to magazines or publications must first obtain a permit from the City Secretary.
