Located in the southwest corner of Grayson County, Tioga  is in the heart of “horse country” and provides our citizens with the “best of both worlds”… they are close enough to enjoy all the amenities of  the Dallas/Ft. Spring Clean-up Activities Scheduled


Several local entities are working with the City of Tioga this spring to provide our citizens with an opportunity to dispose of difficult items such as appliances, limbs, paint, chemicals, and tires. Please view the schedule of Spring Clean-up Activities listed below and take advantage of the chance to dispose of these challenging items.

Please note that there are restrictions to what items are accepted at each event. Contact City Hall or the entity hosting the event for more detail.


April 1, 2017: Large Item Pickup–Waste Management will pickup large items such as limbs and furniture. No tires or chemical accepted. Other restrictions apply. Call City Hall before March 29, 2017 to discuss restrictions and schedule a pick-up.

April 8, 2017: Tioga’s Spring Clean-up. Dumpsters will be placed behind City Hall for the convenience of our citizens. Gates will open at 8 a.m. and close at 2 p.m. (or earlier if dumpsters are full). No tires or chemicals accepted. Other restrictions apply.

April 22, 2017: Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event. Sponsored by the Texoma Council of Governments, household amounts of hazardous waste (restrictions apply) can be dropped off at a location in Grayson, Cooke or Fannin County.

April 29, 2017: Grayson County Clean-up Event.   Phyllis James, County Commissioner, Pct. 3, will be hosting a Spring Clean-up event for the citizens of Grayson County at the Precinct 3 County Barn, 300 Locust Street, Whitesboro, Texas. Details will be posted at a later date.


All items dropped off at the recycling location must be placed in blue bags which are available at City Hall. Loose items will not be recycled. All loose items will be collected and discarded in the regular trash dumpsters. Dumping loose items, hazardous materials, and regular trash at the recycling location is considered illegal dumping and is against the law.
