Located in the southwest corner of Grayson County, Tioga  is in the heart of “horse country” and provides our citizens with the “best of both worlds”… they are close enough to enjoy all the amenities of  the Dallas/Ft. FALL CLEAN-UP

The City of Tioga is having a Fall Clean-up on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Dumpsters will be located inside the fence behind City Hall, 600 Main Street, for your convenience. Gates will open at 8 a.m. and close at 2 p.m., or earlier if dumpsters are full.

No Chemicals, paint, tires, batteries or appliances that use refrigerants will be accepted. Bring a water bill as proof of residency.

 

NEW FEES IN EFFECT

Several Ordinances were passed at the November 10, 2018 Council Meeting that changes the fees charged by the City of Tioga. The Ordinances have been posted on this website. Click here to see the List of Fees adopted September 10, 2018.

BOARD VACANCIES – TIOGA INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

The City Council is taking applications for interested individuals to fill vacancies on the board of the Tioga Industrial Development Corporation (4A). 

The types of projects permitted under Type A include the more traditional types of economic development initiatives that facilitate manufacturing and industrial activity. For example, the Type A tax can be used to fund the provision of land, buildings, equipment, facilities, expenditures, targeted infrastructure and improvements that are for the creation or retention of primary jobs for projects such as manufacturing and industrial facilities, research and development facilities, military facilities, including closed or realigned military bases, recycling facilities, distribution centers, small warehouse facilities, primary job training facilities for use by institutions of higher education, and regional or national corporate headquarters facilities.6 The Type A sales tax may also fund business-related airports, port related facilities, and certain airport-related facilities 25 miles from an international border,7 as well as eligible job training classes, certain career centers and certain infrastructural improvements which promote or develop new or expanded business enterprises.

The City of Tioga, Texas is accepting sealed bids for the purchase of the above-described property. Minimum bid: $30,000.00. The bid envelope must contain a signed statement giving the total amount of the bid for the Property and the bidder’s name, mailing address, and phone number. Each sealed bid mu be accompanied by a certified check, postal money order, bank draft, or cashier’s check made payable in U.S. currency to the City of Tioga, Texas for an amount not less than 10% pf the total amount of the bid. The City reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any and all bids. If the City receives two or more acceptable high bids offering an identical amount for the Property, the City will notify the apparent high bidders of further procedures to determine the highest qualifying bid. The successful bidder will be allowed 30 days from the date the bid is opened to submit the remainder of the full bid price. Failure to timely submit full payment for the Property shall result in the forfeiture of the bid deposit to the City, and the City may offer to sale the Property to the second highest qualifying bidder at their original bid or the City may continue to offer the Property for sale under applicable state law and procedures. Bids will be received until 5:00 p.m. on October 5, 2018 by the City Secretary of the City of Tioga, either by mail to P.O. Box 206, Tioga, Texas 76271 or delivered in person to City Hall, 600 Main Street, Tioga, Texas 76271. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. All envelopes must be marked “BID ‘804 MAIN STREET”. Bids will be opened and read on October 8, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the City Council meeting held at Tioga City Hall.
