Reserve Police Officer 

There is no monetary compensation or City benefits offered for these positions.

The Tioga Police Department is currently looking to fill several  reserve peace officer positions to supplement their force.  Reserve officers will be expected to perform the full range of police duties and be able to work with minimal supervision.  Work hours may include nights, weekends and holidays and could total up to twelve (12) hours per week.  Uniforms and individual duty gear are not furnished by the City.

Applicants must be currently certified through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) as a peace officer and be in good standing. While prior experience in policing is desired (to include the successful completion of a structured Field Training Program), any combination of experience/education that would provide the necessary knowledge can be considered for qualification.

The prospective applicant(s) must be a high school graduate (or have obained their GED) and possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator license with no more than three (3) moving violations or accidents within the past thirty-six (36) months and no DWI, DUID or reckless driving convictions within the past sixty (60) months.  Any Felony or domestic violence conviction is an automatic disqualifier.

Interested applicants should come by Tioga City Hall (600 Main Street) in order to pick up a Personal History Statement Packet (or print off one electronically using the link below) and are encouraged to submit a resume and a letter of interest.  Applications must be filled out completely.  Any omission or incomplete application will not be considered.  Applicants will be subjected to a complete background investigation and may be required to take a polygraph examination and participate in an Oral Review Board prior to selection.  If any additional examination (I.E. physical, drug screen and psychological) is deemed necessary, it will be at the applicant’s expense.

There are several boards associated with the City of Tioga who’s members are appointed by the City Council. These include the Planning and Zoning Commission, Tioga Economic Development Corporation, and the Tioga Industrial Development Corporation.
