The City of Tioga has adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 8 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $39.78 over the effective tax rate.

GARAGE SALE PERMITS REQUIRED. Please fill out an application for a Garage/Yard Sale Permit and file it at City Hall before your sale begins. Each residence is allowed to have three permitted garage/yard sales during the year in addition to the City Wide Garage Sale in October for which no permit is required.

You must obtain a permit before constructing or installing any swimming pool (above-ground or in-ground) that holds 2,500 gallons or more of water. Any swimming pool that holds 24 inches or more of water must be surrounded by a barrier (fence). Complete rules are available at City Hall.

Our Mosquito Prevention Program is scheduled to begin in May and run though September. Spraying is scheduled during the over-night hours on the third Wednesday of each month. It may be moved a day forward or back to accommodate the weather (rain). B.t.i. Briquets are available at City Hall free of charge while supplies last.
